BMW Wins at the 25 Hours of Thunderhill!

Team Nitto/Diffsonline wins the E0 class of the 2007 25 Hours of Thunderhill in a BMW e46 Motorsport chassis . Official results, press releases and pics of all class winners can be found on the NASA 25 Hour site:
http://www.nasa25hour.com/

The BMW Club Racing team based at Bullet Performance in Costa Mesa, Ca. completed 615 laps to win by 5 laps over the Honda of PDQ at Thunderhill Raceway Park in Willows, Ca. It was an overall great effort by the team and a terrific job by the driver team of Marc Ghafouri, Mickey Miller, Brett Strom, Ralph Warren and Travis Weltzien to avoid trouble throughout an event filled night.

The win, which was the 2nd 25 Hour win for Miller and Weltzien, was the first for Ghafouri, Strom and Warren as the team made very few mistakes throughout the 25 Hours of racing. The car held up very well mechanically, with no failures of the engine, transmission and particularly the rear diff. as the unit provided by DiffsOnLine ran all 25 hours without a problem.
The Nitto Tires also contributed heavily to the win. Driver Brett Strom commented "I can't say enough about how great the Nitto tires were during the race. I ran a session at 8am with tires that were anywhere from 4 to 9 hours old on the car. The consistent grip level of the tires was amazing."

TV Coverage will be on Redline TV on Dec. 18th on Speed Channel.

Hi Res and more pics can be found in my photo gallery:

Fantastic! Scott, did you run this race? I was just wondering what kind of events you are running in these days. Back in the early bimmerfest days, I recall you with a pretty stunning silver car w/red ragtop.

Ah, that beautiful M Roadster - sold it to a car collector in Nevada after I won a clean car contest with it. Now, I do racing. We race the Crevier M3 in my sig and my main driver Ralph Warren and I were part of that team (I was engineer/crew) in this thread that won the 25 Hours of Thunderhill. Nitto Press release here:

So, what am I doing lurking around a 1 series forum? Well, not to let the cat out of the bag, but we do race BMWs . . .

But on the 25 Hour Team - Team Nitto/Diffsonline, this guy has much better pics:

I remember that thread about you guys doing the 'weekend of clean' on the M. It was pretty well documented, and a good read.

Btw, I know the guys over at Diffsonline, and Dan runs at most of the local events. Funny guy.
