I'm not sure I ever claimed to be disgruntled. All I said if they do the same thing on Paramount. I don't watch Paramount very much so I just mute them. Problem solved on my end. Not only do I not see their commercial as I typically fuck off on my phone until they are done, I now don't hear them either.

I said "everyone" as in the general sentiment of the thread. Everyone's important but in this case I had just quoted your post as it was the last one I read before posting and the last general idea I read before forming my words. Maybe you aren't disgruntled, that's great!

I'm surprised to hear about a TV that would auto-mute. That tech was probably bought and buried.

Off-topic, but I really wish pharmaceutical companies could not advertise. Their commercials are obnoxious, and a non-trivial amount of them are just covering their asses with disclaimers. "May cause death or dismemberment. Please consult your physician."

I have seen drug commercials for Canada & it's the opposite of the bs here in the US. It needs to be regulated. Big pharma is in the pocket of the politicians here so fat chance.

Are there any gunshots in The Godfather? If that's the peak volume, the entire commercial can be at that level.

Do television commercial advertisements sometimes seem louder than the shows they accompany? TV stations are prohibited from boosting the average volume of commercials to levels beyond the programs they accompany.

FCC rules for loud TV commercials are based on the Commercial Advertisement Loudness Mitigation (CALM) Act.

Ah, rules, yeah, nobody ever breaks the rules.

The argument is a waste anyway, the commercial is specifically designed to be at the max volume it can be at vs anything else, and the same with the colors and idiot flashing.

Nope, when you're old you can't hear the damn things.

When I was 50, 3 years ago, I had my hearing professionally checked, just to see how much I had lost. They put me in the category of my 20's.

I can hear too well for my age.
