So, I need some help understanding the difference between bacon and pork belly (the food). We went to an all-you-can-eat Korean grill your own food place, and they kept bringing me "pork belly" Best I can tell is there is SOME dividing line between bacon and pork belly, but I can't figure it out. My best guess is 13:45 is when bacon becomes pork belly???

You forgot to mention that the depth of pork belly allows it to retain much of its natural fats which can be lost with traditional bacon. Pork Belly is essentially the holy grail of pigs and should be savored even more than bacon. Drizzle it with real maple syrup and bake in the oven or on the grill to make even the manliest of panties soaked.

It pains me to admit it, but you are both correct. It is basically a ham, though sort of a tougher / chewier ham than just regular ham.

That being said, put it under a poached egg with some Hollandaise sauce and an English muffin....ahhh, wonderful.

I've ordered my eggs benny with the regular Canadian bacon and also with a side of real bacon as well. Just for the deliciousness.

I have to say - real bacon underneath the egg with the sauce wouldn't be as good as Canadian bacon. So there is a place for it.

No, he's a genetic defect. Glad we got him though, breeder would have surely put him down when he figured it out.

When we found out ours was the first dog out of the breeders 60 years of breeding that had cataracts at 4 months, we quickly went out and played the PowerBall. Damn dog must have used up all of our luck though.
