Not the best weather for the Trick-or-Treat crowd.

It has started but I don't think it will stay on the ground for long since they are forecasting 10°C by Wednesday.

In Colorado, that's just fall!

"We went from a high of 69 degrees Sunday to a low of 10 degrees Monday morning. That is a 59-degree temperature swing in two days.

While a huge change, that number doesn't even make it into the top 9 for "largest two-day temperature change in Denver" since records started being kept in 1872.

The winner of that category goes to Dec. 14, 2008 when we went from a high of 58 to a low of -18 degrees the following day! That's a 76 degree temperature swing."

When I checked the temperature here in Chicago about 9:00 AM it was 36. In Lubbock, where I grew up and my sister lives, it was 33. That doesn’t happen too often.

My wife and I were stationed at Goodfellow AFB in San Angelo many years ago. We got about an inch of snow one night and you would think we had just witnessed the apocalypse! Texans aren't engineered to deal with snow.

Colorado isn't surpring though. I expect extreme temperature swings.
hehe in TEXAS however, this is very rare. But... I will take the cooler Temps! We were Roasted all Summer with record breaking Heat!
I don't mind the cold temps. Just keep the Snow and Ice away.

Not to go too far off topic. I was an Army electronic warfare signals intelligence analyst and I was stationed for training at Goodfellow twice.

This? You were there when it was actually an Air Force base. The only things using the runways when I was there were us grunts running our two miles for the PT test.

Okay, after dscabra confirms we can go back to the weather.

That airplane is a Canadian made DeHavilland Otter and the picture was taken in Vietnam in 1967 at the Hue Citadel airfield.

I don’t know what the U1 school was. I saw that you were in the Army. Yeah, I was there just three years after you. 1988 - 1989.

They’re saying parts of Chicagoland COULD get as much as 3” of snow tomorrow. Of course, it won’t happen.

U1 was the ASI awarded for completion of the Enciphered Communications Analysis Course. I also held ASIs M7 and K2.

Weather for Halloween will be relatively comfortable following the 8 inches of snow and temps in the teens we just had.

Okay. They must have changed the ASIs. Were you a 98C? My second stint at Goodfellow was for the T9, Fundamental Military Cryptanalyst Course. Probably the same course as your U1. I also had the F8 ASI for the Electronic Warfare Analyst Course at Fort Devens, MA. What were M7 and K2?

It's freekin' cold here. Generally I love this kind of weather but we are tearing out 48" access door into the shop today. It was 75deg most of last week but could the door come in then? No of course not, it shows up when the temp is in the 20's.
Have a spooky Halloween!

I wanted to take down two cameras mounted on a light pole for a firmware update last week, when the temps were in the 70's F. Of course, the maintenance department's bucket lift was down with a blown hydraulic pump. Looks like this task is going to be gloves and coats by the time the bucket lift is repaired.

It's 47 F and mostly sunny a few minutes before 1:00 PM, with a freeze advisory for tonight and flurries forecast for tomorrow.....
