It would be useful if she was streaming live and you could actually carry a real conversation. I close it right away when I hit the site as well. Multimedia/flash for the sake of being cool doesn't belong on commerce sites, IMO. Maybe for brochure pages, but even then I find them annoying.

Very annoying. Reminds me of those dumb sound ads on animeshippuuden.com
At least she didn't talk too long. Although most people know how to navigate a website.

Wish I hadn't seen this thread... Noscript was automatically blocking that popup and I had no idea it existed until now.
While I appreciate the effort that's exactly the WRONG thing to do to your site. If you want to improve the site improve the basic layout, performance (aka, don't load it with bloated BS that doesn't help) and make something that works well on an iPhone while you're at it |

Just checked out the site. It seems to be click-to-activate now. To be honest, I probably would not have clicked the "play" button had I not read this post first. It is fairly discrete in the corner. Just makes me wonder, why have it at all if it is hidden?
Maybe have a notification that says "Click for Michelle" or something. I appreciate the effort and the clip is well done. However, like the others, I prefer not to waste time listening to sales pitches when I'm already on the site. I wouldn't want to distract my customers from buying once they are already on my site. |
