True story. I have a friend who refuses to say BMW, and instead pronounces it "Beeh Ehm Vih".

Someone. Shoot me.

I figured as much. I was just playing along.

In all seriousness though, I work at a VW store in an affluent area of the city, and we do mostly high line cars- AMG, BMW's, Porsches, Bentleys, Jags, Astons, etc, etc.

What I'm getting at is I get a chance to drive a lot of them- in the last week alone I've driven a 2017 Targa C4S, 2009 Bentley Conti GT, 2010 Audi S5, and my daily is a new GTI. It's amazing how many similarities there are between them all. From things like the switch gear and electronic screens to things like the weight and feel of certain controls, it's easy to decipher the connection among them. You can take from that what you will.

I personally love how Porsches (911's in particular) drive, so I feel it's a good thing.

Oh, and I pronounce it the right way- with 2 syllables.

I can pronounce "Overpriced compensator". Should I use that instead of Porsh?

Bah Emm Vhey is the German pronunciation of BMW.

And don't get Brits started on coupé.
Difference is Porsche is someone's name, it should be pronounced the same in any language.

I don't disagree with that. Siemens being pronounced correctly as Zeemans would sure make a lot of Americans more comfortable.

Regional variances leave the g sounding a lot like ghey.

I get just as livid when I hear Mazda pronounced incorrectly. I make it a point to berate anyone who doesn't pronounce it "Matsuda" to make it known that I'm an enthusiast.

It's not a freaking "Porsh", it's called PORSCHE. You don't call Ferrari "Ferrurueh" do you? How hard is it for people to pronounce the name of a car or even brand right?
OMG! Are you going to be alright?
