We forgot to think of a second name to our son. On the way to the church we remembered this tiny fail and came up with a name. My husband came home from work a few days later and told me that his colleague had asked the name. "I told him what we came up with and it pissed me off we couldn't come up with anything better" Every kid has been a struggle. I haven't been much help and after naming our dogs the way I prefer (Rabies Alfonso and Kissa (cat) are our current ones), I'm sure my kids won't ask for tips from me.

I always thought if I ever get two dogs at the same time I'd name them Hugo and Boss. That being said this wouldn't be appropriate for a child though lol. Imagine a kid called Boss. lol

How about just "Epic" whether male or female? It is a very popular word that is frequently misused already so why not turn it into a name?

The only thing I think is..., some names sound great for kids, but a little kidish for an adult. Then again, my grandmother was Shirley, so that sounded grandmotherish from the start. |

I get what you're saying and I agree. However, a name really depends on how one carries it. On that note, the names Kenneth and William (can be Liam, Will, Bill) for a boy are good options.

Our boy was born Dec 2013, and wound up with the most popular name that year. Now when he goes swimming at 22 mos, it's like 5 or more parents call out to their sons with the same name at any given time! I bet when he starts hockey, he'll have 6 others on the team with his name.
Point is parents should come up with names themselves for their own personal reasons IMHO ....it is very exciting to have a baby on the way!! |

We almost named our son Ares (God of war) but stuck with family name Galliano.
His middle name is Maximilian (I think in latin means Greatest). He goes by Max for short |

Before I picked Peyton for my son, I was also considering Eli but its really short for Elisha and I didn't want my son to be named/called that

Child naming is a fun conversation piece, not to mention interesting to track trends over the years--from topics like the increasing prevalence of "high class" names over time or noting the emerging popularity of traditional names i.e., Olivia & Henry.
I've had a fond spot for these two names because of familial ties: Constance (Connie) Eleanor (Ellie) |
