idrive question - Update

My boss just picked up a 2006 750li and his NAV disc is from 2005.2. So I told him I would make a copy of mine for him (I have a 2009.1 from torrent that I have been using in my 2007 335i).

So I made him the copy and when he puts the disk into his trunk reader it just comes up on display "please insert cd/dvd map disk". So I figured the copy didnt work and gave him the working disc from my car. Same thing happened.

I then pulled out my 2007.1 OEM disc that came with my car and had the same results. However as soon as I pulled out the disc and re-inserted his 2005.2 the display came right up to MAP with no issues.

Is there a different disc needed for the 7 series? I would like to get him upgraded, but I am at a loss as to why his car will not read any thing other then the 2005.2 that it came with.

yea, i think it's something like professional or something(not sure). But i know for sure there are different versions
