During the Jeddah race Verstappen kept on clocking fastest laps. Towards the end that stopped. Sounds like Verstappen suggests that he decided towards the end of the race not to push too hard anymore and to simply control the gap to Checo:

- Saturday: F1 race: race win + iRacing at 2am: race win

M. Schumacher ran (already)! for a long time with his cheating fuel valve and he gained a lot of time while refueling his car in the pit ...
But with Jos it went completely wrong .Even the pit crew got burn injuries !
A FIA investigation followed and the cheating fuel valve was banned ...

M. Schumacher cheated a lot . Also with his first gen. of traction control in the rain..
The other teams had no clue what traction control was !
No wonder M.Schumacher ran like on rails in the rain ...

Slowly the world has come to realise that it wasn't just talent that kept MS at the front, the truth dawned when he drove for Merc without success with tightened safety regulations and he also fell out with some competitors like Massa,Hill and Villeneuve with his questionable manoeuvres that often led to collisions at crucial times when he was challenged and using his teammates also to block rivals.

Magical moments, all part of the show to keep us watching. Now, all we have are the same old boring 3 second pit stops where the biggest drama might be a stuck wheel nut. It's just all around terrible the product F1 has now. Literally the one change I approve of is the Halo protecting the driver (along with some other safety measures of course). That was an absolutely fantastic improvement. F1 has never been very competitive at the top, but there was at least always something that would keep you tuning in. Hell, even if we had the V10s now it would be doable. As it is now, there is literally nothing to keep me interested enough to watch even 10% of the races.

I do agree with him that as laudable Bearman's performance is, him finishing in front of both Lando and LH does not mean he is better than either of them. To say he is outright is ridiculous.

F1 CAN be better but I do still enjoy watching it

Agree!! These races are brutally boring. It’s a shame to be honest
