Garage Door Screens
Anyone have one of these or something similar?
https://www.lifestylescreens.com/ (God awful website. Like someone's very first html try from the early 90's.) I have a decent garage workbench setup now and I've been spending a lot of time out there, but I've been getting eaten alive by mosquitos and pestered by flies. I'd love to have a screen system. There are the velcro/magnetic ones that are dirt cheap, but they look like crap when rolled up. These inner-door type screens are pricey, but they look better and hide away easy.

They're closer to $1500 on Amazon and that doesn't include installation.

It does look brittle. And I can't see why it costs so much. Seems pretty simple.

Is it possible to install the screens inside the garage instead of outside? My neighbor has the velcro/magnet screen and I know what you mean about how tacky it looks rolled up.

Central air conditioning of *all* garage/work spaces is near the top of the punch list for our retirement Garage Mahal construction down south.....

Love mine. I would be w/o one. I use the garage as an extension to my covered porch when the black flies, mosquitoes and deer flies are out in force, especially during the evening. Just add tables and chairs and a beer cooler.
$2000 Canadian pesos installed. |

And that's about what I expect it would cost installed here as well. Does it seal well against the frame?

Does it use magnets or just pressure? How does it seal or hold against the door frame? I'm concerned about our frame because it has a rubber flap all the way around that keeps the rain out. I don't think the screen door could actually make contact with the inside edge of the frame.

When they first installed it, I could not open the door by pulling on the two lanyards because it was so tight. You also get a metal rod to guide the door back so it doesn't slam on the rear of the rail. |
