can a PHEV provide AC heating/cooling without engine running?

i like my EV bcos it can give me heat via a heatpump and AC via some HVAC magic powered by the high voltage battery ...

it turns out you can't do that in a ICE as the engine needs to run to turn the AC compressor and there is no other heating source than the engine (tried that in my M340i and M550i - cold air when i crank up the T) ...

what about PHEV?

Yes and you can schedule it in the BMW app to precondition your cabin to your AUTO temp set point before you leave. I have a charging port at home and the office, and I've set it up to get the cabin conditioned for morning, lunch and my commute home. Really nice quality of life feature that I didn't realize I would appreciate so much. In the winter the heat from the cabin also melts all the snow off the windows or at least makes it easier to wipe it off with the brush.

My Lexus rx hybrid has an electric ac compressor.

So yes, AC at full blast when the engine is off at traffic lights is a wonderful thing and a requirement in Florida Heat.
Otherwise auto stop/start would be permanently off. (but you can't on a hybrid afaik)

Really? If typing out three more letters is too hard, wouldn't "bcoz" be more accurate?

I believe the only caveat is if you have no charge left on your high voltage phev battery 90%), then you won't be able to precondition the vehicle.
