Msport? Need help

Hey guys,
I have a 540i Msport (6spd)
The build date is 03/05/2002
It’s registered as a 2002 model year, is this a mistake?

It came from factory with M sports suspension 2, M aerodynamics (M5 bumpers), Sports seats & M steering wheel, M light alloy wheels & M badging/trim everywhere etc.

VIN: GF70371

Found the answer.
Canada got MSport models for 2002 model year.

Canada 540 and 530 M-Sport was available 2001 to 2003.
540 also had the M Executive package with 18" M Parallel wheels, rear and side shades, headlight washers and some other stuff on top of the M-Sport options.

I have a Canadian market 2001 540 M-Sport I imported from Vancouver, BC back in 2003. I still daily drive it.

That makes sense. My 2003 540i shows a production date of 2003-04-28, but it has a later sequence vin - GF71899
