rear arch lips different texture-

Hi all i have an 06 roadster which i have recently noticed has a rough inner lip at one side and a not so rough on the other side(not completley smooth)-are yours the same both sides?-thanks

Not sure what you mean by inner lip. Do you mean where the metal fender folds under and the plastic liner rests on it? I took my fender liner out the other day and noticed the paint had a rough finish. Didn't compare it to the other side tho.

Yeah its about 5mm wide thin arched lip.

Oh, yeah. It's a crappy finish. I put a thick layer of wax to keep road grime from building up. The paint finish is pretty bad, I assume to make it more durable.

Thanks for the reply santov,its just that mine are not of equal quality,one side is slightly rougher than the other,im having worries about it having bodywork done in the past,yet the sides of the car look spot on?-can anyone put my mind at rest and say theirs are the same?-mine is an 06 2.0i roadster.

It is normal to have some variation in the rough anti-chip coat that appears under the paint in areas requiring the most chip protection. It is some form of polymer coating that is sprayed on the most vulnerable areas before the car is painted. It isn't meant to be visually perfect, but practical from a protection perspective.
