Looking at you Cortexiphan, and I m very certain this is not your first time.

Jason and other mods, where is this forum going?

There is a new big BMW model coming out. Completely covered with camo. 'Piece of shit' 'Designers should be fired' 'BMW is done' 'Quality, driving, styling all sucks'... And you have a problem with criticizing those trolls huh? You know trolling & spamming is not allowed according to forum rules right?

Isn’t it wild that my little boxster has a frunk and a trunk but BMW can’t find a way to engineer all that stuff under the hood like, say, Tesla can? I mean, the batteries and motors are out of the way, so surely they could minimize the heat pump and A/C etc etc.

[QUOTE=tuffode;31628923]They specifically covered that area up with panel and camo, you can't even see it. Like someone else said earlier, maybe you have Superman X-Ray vision.

I did put a question mark. Thanks for the comment.

The modern G series cars are so numb/isolated I don’t think there’s much lost going EV or hybrid. I wouldn’t say a modern G8X M car has much more character or soul than a model 3 having driven both over a few days - neither are all that engaging or interesting below 8/10s

Jason and other mods, where is this forum going?

If you get triggered this way on the forum you seem to have some serious issues. The civility in all posts here seems not out of line but your attacking attitude and frustrated disposition isn’t in that category.

If you got time to entertain the trolls be our guest. Keep it all within some limits, however.

If you were to meet these people with “opinions” in real life, you’ll realize they are also quite accomplished in life and are not insulted in person often like you are hell bound on doing.

Behave man, it is not that hard. Surely you are a grown up. Come on.

Only MAGAts believe there is an EV mandate. But they have trouble with facts generally. With Elon running the Department of Redundancy Department, you can be damn sure we’re gonna end up with an EV mandate.

Has been discussed at length that the next ICE 3 series (G50) will continue on the CLAR architecture and the EV (NA0/1) will be NK platform. Bodies will be different, as is the case with the new X3 and iX3.

Never used the frunk on my Taycan, cannot figure out why people think they are necessary. Maybe nice to have, but definitely not necessary.

Yeah I hear you but I’ve had two teslas and an iX and I do miss the frunk. It’s pretty sweet for certain things.

This comes across as condescending and strange. I don’t need your lectures, especially considering the serious judgment issues you’re demonstrating.

If you can’t see the problem with every new model thread devolving into a “who can hate more” or “who can insult more” contest, transforming them into toxic wastelands devoid of any productive discussion—even before any of us have seen or driven the cars—I don’t know what else to say. In this very thread, there’s a post that reads, “Design, quality, driving dynamics—all crap,” directly referring to a car that no one has even seen or driven yet. And there are many other similar posts. Is this the kind of forum environment you want to foster? Do you understand that? And this doesn’t deserve any criticism? An accomplished person doesn’t come to a forum every day just to insult everything, day and night. I didn’t open this thread intending to get angry at all, but they did. Got it?

It almost makes you wonder if BMW had this evil plan all along. You’re absolutely correct about the numbness and lack of feel. That said, having had the model 3 performance, the G80 comp, and the g80 manual … the m3 is still much more engaging, especially the manual. On track the m3 comp would be much better given the lack of battery range constraint. That said, if you compare the M3 to my boxster, it’s very eye opening if you haven’t been outside of the M world for a decade.

I barely ever used the frunk in my polestar 2. Well, I once did keep some Ben and Jerry’s in there on a long winters’ ride home from Vermont.

Here’s some reasons to have a frunk:
1) makes you feel super cool - almost cool enough to be driving a Porsche

Ok that one is a joke - let’s start over:
1) dirty shoes, clothes - e.g., from hiking or a triathlon
2) smelly to go food or leftovers
3) groceries (debatable)
4) trash. Whenever I go to my mom’s gravesite I have old nasty flowers to toss, sometimes with a small hornet nest or spiders. Fronk for the win. (No trash can nearby)
5) anything you want to keep cold in winter.
6) anything you want to keep hot in summer.

I’m sure there are more examples. Bottom line is BMW’s engineering is pretty lazy or Ford-like. Not typical over-engineering from BMW.
