Stealth PPF Question

Hey everyone,

I have a BSM MY25 M4CX on order right now and planning on having a full Stealth PPF done once the car arrives. For those that have gotten a stealth PPF before, is the inside of the door frame PPF’d as well, or would the inside of my doors be gloss black?

Thanks in advance.

The inside of the door will be gloss. Usually most shops have a computer program that cuts the outline of the exterior of the vehicle making it easier to install and the right size.

You might be able to pay them to go all the way in, I’m not sure, but I’ve never really noticed it.

My stealth PPF wraps around all the edges and where the stealth ends and the factor gloss begins is unnoticeable.

Just got my ‘25 M3 Comp back after getting a stealth / Matte PPF installed. First of all….the finish is amazing and the car looks incredible in all lighting conditions. The door jams will remain gloss unless you are asking the shop for a full color change of your car in which they will use a colored PPF or vinyl wrap for the inside of the door jams (along with every other painted surface). This is a lot more expensive and time consuming.

Why do you ask that? Is it because it would bother you if the inside frame isn’t matte? The answer is, it isn’t, those parts would remain gloss. If you watch some YouTube videos about tips on car wrapping, you would know that extending the wrap to inside of door frames is extremely difficult to achieve, but more importantly creates higher chance for film to lift because there’s no return at the point where metal meets the rubber seal in addition to al the extra sharp turns and contours. My xpel stealth on my sapphire black ends at 1/4” on the inside edge of door frame. That 1/4” wraparound is the sweet spot to secure the film from lifting like a hook. Similar to the concept of creating a rounded edge for exhaust tip by rolling the edge of the metal.
