I'm actually born/raised in Nashville, but sadly haven't lived there in about 9 years. What part of the city are you moving to? I was from the southside in Brentwood/Franklin area.
I've got tons of friends there and there's a massive car community. One of my best friends just picked up an E92 335i 6spd to turn into a fun monster. Another friend of ours owns a BMW Specialist shop: @kennedyperformancecenter .
You'll love the area, very different from D.C.
