Are you sure about that? When I bought my Sorento PHEV they said I could lease it and they'd take the $6587 tax credit off the lease. (see attachment)

I ended up buying it and claiming the credit on my taxes so it worked out, but some people won't be able to capture the full credit if they don't owe enough taxes as the credit is non-refundable.
