Yes...there is access through #8 in the diagram below...which allows you to replace bulbs #9 & #10 (see diagram below).

To access the light bulbs that are in the tailgate...open the tool box...then disconnect electrical connector...then turn lock to remove socket housing (#8 in diagram below):

1=tail light | 2 = reverse light | 3 = rear fog light (not used in US market)
