Bad grammar is simply a geographical marker in some places, and I think we ought to not get involved with the historical significance passing this bad grammar from generation to generation. That goes for spelling and the spoken word as well.

As we try to "teach" people the "right way" of the English language, the small cultural markers of certain groups are lost as they assimilate into what the man wants to see as a modern vanilla culture.

By the way, I'm the child of Hispanic immigrants who were also migrant farm workers. I grew up speaking Spanish, only learning English through the American school system. In my spare time I sometimes enjoy playing devil's advocate even though I don't necessarily agree with certain views I may bring up, it's usually more to spark the conversation than anything.
