So I've had my X2 2.0 S drive for about a month now.

Tested it in normal driving conditions.

Mostly it's okay, but in some situations the lag is terrible. When moving off from a very low speed and wanting quick acceleration, either the engine turbo lag or the transmission not kicking down quickly enough, results in a painful and potentially dangerous delay.

I notice this when coming to a give-way sign then accelerating without having stopped completely. Or when merging with high speed traffic, or even trying to scoot past cars in traffic. Makes me lose a little confidence in whether the car will respond in time.

Using Power mode makes it better, but not completely eliminated.

Rather disappointing that a modern 2.0 petrol turbo only makes 141kW and still has this horrible lag.

Note this is the non-US model with 7 speed DSG gearbox..
