Judging by the A frame ladder and the orange 4' level in the photo, I'd say he's got generous ceiling height! My current house only has 8.5' to the bottom of the floor joists so I have to get really snug against the HVAC ducting with my drywall. There's a couple ducts that I might just let poke through the drywall and simply paint white. The new house is getting spec'd with 10' ceilings in the shop and garage for just this reason!
