Hey guys, I've been searching and searching and can't find the answer. On a 1997 540 is the alternator air cooled or water cooled? I'm putting one on a friends car this weekend and the one he got is an air cooled alternator. I read that the water cooled ones started in 1999? correct me if I'm wrong. I can't seem to find a diy for the air cooled ones anywhere. Any suggestions or links is appreciated.
