I will chime in.

A good friend of mine drives a Vishnu 135i, almost 50,000 on the clock, tracks the car, lives here in Georgia (ethanol state) and has yet to have a fuel pump issue. .

BMW, like all companies outsource a lot of the components found in their cars. The HPFP is one of them. The manufacturer and BMW are working on a solution, but it's not as simple as re-designing a pump - obviously this has not worked since they have gone through a lot of re-designs.

Let's hope they figure it out
