Good review, says pretty much the same thing as the AutoBild one. The 911 is the quintessential driver's car. The i8 is a new take, not as grippy or involved, but makes up for it with the excellent performance in the 30-50mph and 50-70mph roll-on tests.

The torque fill from the electric motor (and the 2nd electric motor good for 37ft-lb) really adds to the real world driving usability of the i8's powertrain.

What I don't get is the 30-70mph time being overall lower than the Porsche, and the 4.6 time for the i8 0-60mph.

The 30-70 is baffling because the i8 beat the Porsche in both of the individual roll-on (30-50; 50-70) tests. They didn't mention the gears used in that metric, but I imagine it might be due to the i8 not shifting as fast as the 911. Just a guess, don't know of course.

And, the generally conservative BMW official 0-60mph time is 4.2s, with R&T getting 3.8s for 0-60mph and AutoBild getting 4.2s for 0-100kph, meaning theoretically that their 0-60mph would have been slightly faster. Either way, 4.6s seems really off the mark. I wonder if they forgot to use launch control?
