It actually decreases the number of gauges to maintain stock of from 3 to 2 (Metric Only, Imperial/Metric, Metric/Imperial). There would be some savings and inventory streamlining associated  |
I could believe that if it was a global change across all models, but it seems isolated to the 2 series.
