First: 1977 or 1978 E21 320i
Looks similar to this:
Not only my first BMW, but my first car ever. It barely ran, but I loved it. Sadly, it just stopped working after awhile since it was already an old rust bucket when I got it.
The steering was something to behold: non-power steering gave me a workout pulling into parking spots, but on the road it felt great! My best memories as a foolish teenager in that car was placing the automatic in neutral, revving to redline, then slamming it into gear to experience the 2 seconds of glorious burnout! It wasn't what I would call fast or quick, however, so that burnout was the only sensation of speed I could muster. Come to think of it, the hooliganism probably led to its eventual demise.
Years... and YEARS later I came back to BMW with the F30 328i. A F30 340i replaced that, then a F80 paired with an i3. Then I got a new i3 and a new F80 M3 CS, both of which currently sit my garage. I actually almost got a new i8 last month, but I have put that on hold until I see more news on the M2 CS.
