I had plans to attend the 1974 race after college, but never made it.

So many memorable moments....Peter Dumbrek's pirouetting MB WSC at a high rate of speed.

And the movie....released in 1971....will never forget seeing it on the big screen in San Diego CA and the infamous lines that are still with me today:

"A lot of people go through life doing things badly. Racing's important to men who do it well. When you're racing, it's life. Anything that happens before or after is just waiting."

"This isn't just a thousand to one shot. Racing is a blood sport....it can happen to you, and then it can happen to you again".

"Michael, I want you to drive flat out. I want Porsche to win Le Mans".
