Although the 5GT never sold much, it did actually end up beating the old 5 series wagon sales, which was the goal from the start.
Coming from someone who detests the GT how it comes from the factory, I think the new GT can definitely be more of a crowd pleaser this time around. If 41,000 people can follow my current GT, which is already a bit *hmmm* in its design, I can imagine the new one (especially modified in similar fashion to mine) can definitely amass an even larger following. However, if the new one is pretty from the get-go, it will make the reward of being told, "Wow, never liked a GT until I saw yours," a little less special, but I'm willing to accept that
