Close. Formula1.com is good but I think to really learn the sport go to FIA.com
and go to SPORT. WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS. FIA FORMULA ONE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP.

Additionally at the FIA site check out KARTING. and under CIRCUIT chk out the feeder series leading up to F1.

Be sure under FIA Fornula One World Championship hit the SHOW MENU tab and review the regulations.

There is a lot of history in formula one and studying (or getting a good book about ) Ferrari grand prix racing and then the change to Formula 1 is a great read. Also reading about Mercedes grande prix and then formula 1 is educational.

Of course a good book about BMW formula 1 engines (history) should be very interesting and educational.
