Finally caught up on HOTD today, apparently the next episode will mark one of the last time jumps as we start approaching the Dance of the Dragons. Very interesting to see how things have changed with the ten year jump, and Emma D'Arcy and Olivia Cooke as older Rhaenyra and Alicent are already excellent in their roles, Alicent will be an interesting character to watch, especially based on next week's promo.

I have to be honest, with the time jumps and replacement actors and the over all story line my wife and I are losing interest. I don't think it stands up to the original by any stretch. I'll give it a few more episodes before we bail, I hope it gets better.

The jumps will stop at episode 8. The reason is not much happens in the source material until it is time for Rhaenyra to take succession and the Targaryen civil war (Dance of the Dragons) happens. The show runners have said after episode 8, the series will continue at a normal pace. Before that, the show is to essentially act as a prologue.
