If you are really, uh "creative", you can schedule a Friday afternoon appointment for any reason, book a loaner. It doesn't need to be routine maintenance, it can be something like try to reproduce XYZ issue that's been bothering you for a while. If you are good enough friends, have the service department do some banal work for $XX and you get a loaner. I've heard people allude to dealerships letting you do overnight test drives, but it seems like you better know someone there or just have very high cachet.
Seems like a bad thing to do and way too much hassle/game playing though. Just book on Turo, that's what it is made for.
