People were running 1k hp jza80 supras like 10-15 yrs ago with port injection and crappy engine management from 3000cc and 6 measley cylinders

Did Toyota sell those as a crate motor? I had a friend with an HKS single turbo that was making about 700hp and it was about as reliable as an ME-262. I'd imagine the longevity and reliability of a 1000hp JZA wasn't exactly what you're looking at here, not to mention actual drivability.
