I don't consider having 48V as being hybrid. Especially with ISG, it's basically just getting a much more powerful starter alternator motor mounted in between the engine and transmission. So that:
1) Brake energy recycled much faster
2) All engine accessories to be electric driven, way more reliability and efficiency (Ask E92 M3 owner how they gets an instant 20-30whp by just using a smaller pulley)
3) ISG adds noticeable and instant torque at low down where the S58 is lacking the most.
4) ISG can even power the supercharging system (MB I6 EQ boost).

I consider all of above very traditional ICE techs.
