Could be 'win win' - prevent maniacs from actually hurting people and encourage others to just peg the car the entire time so they can keep handing out the speeding tickets. I know I drive ~85-90 with my car... if flooring it was 95 I'd be tempted to just keep my foot down rather than trying to regulate it.

If there is no manual override though they can go **** themselves.
I've seen 80 mph on some interstate highways.
