Miranda is only required for interrogation in custody. You can arrest someone without ever giving a Miranda warning. In most cases, however, the Miranda warning is given at some point. As it pertains to DUI's, Miranda is given at the very end of the field investigation before being taken into custody (..
e.g..post initial questioning [not about the crime itself], field sobriety tests, PAS, etc.).
