Both the eastern and western gray squirrels are about the same size and not up to the size of a fox squirrel.
For this one, I was quietly sitting down, my eye to the camera while waiting for birds. It felt like someone was watching me, looked to my right and the squirrel was ~6ft away from me sitting down and quietly staring. A bit unnerving since I'm the one usually doing the stalking!
