The only way LEC will get away with it is to be at least 0.5 sec faster per lap, qualify higher and best of all, have another car behind him and infront of VET. Only then will LEC out score VET this year.

Is it also in the contract that LEC has to qualify slower? If he were faster, he'd be ahead. Simple as that. Ferrari just wasn't up to challenging Mercedes, no matter the strategy.
