- Stauassistent, hält Abstand zum Vorderfahrzeug auf Autobahnen bis max. 40 km/h,

Translated : traffic jam assistant, keeps the distance from the vehicle in front of you on freeways for speeds up to 40 km/h. Regulates the speed automatically up to a complete stop and keeps the vehicle in the right lane by applying corrections to the steering wheel.

So this is different from the speed regulator with radar and lane departure warning which is for higher speeds.
I'm sure this uses the same technology used in the Active Cruise Control which I had in our 2008 535xiT. If you've never tried this before, it is amazing and works "scary good". It's very hard to not have your foot hovering over the break the entire time but after a while you get to trusting the system and it works like a charm. If you commute on a freeway to work and back, this can be a very worthwhile option. The Active cruise was also excellent for trips to the cabin on the long weekends where there is a lot of traffic on the highway.
