3M came out with a spray on clear bra for DIYers. It's called 3M Paint defender. I've never used it but there are some reviews floating around the web. The black trim is clear coated, therefore it is correctable with polishes. If it were me, I would use a coating such as opticoat 2.0 or gtechniq c1. Both are very hard finishes that are much more resistant to scratching than the factory clear.
