Yep. The condensor was there to reduce sparking across the point gap when they opened. Made the points last longer. I used to use a matchbook cover as a gapping tool in a pinch, worked pretty well. That was when cars got tuneups twice a year. Now it's twice in the car's entire lifetime! |
I used the corner of the cigarette pack. Pretty much the same as the matchbook.
