Ignition points. I've installed many of them while doing tune ups on cars before electronic ignition. Yep. The condensor was there to reduce sparking across the point gap when they opened. Made the points last longer. I used to use a matchbook cover as a gapping tool in a pinch, worked pretty well. That was when cars got tuneups twice a year. Now it's twice in the car's entire lifetime!
