First, I find it heartwarming that those altruistic Chineese have decided to probe software vulnerabilities in the broad array of consumer electronics - surely this year-long effort, and the lab supporting it, is entirely for the purpose of sending out these warnings, and making us all safer from evildoers and those who hate America. I wonder if they are sharing info with the Russian 'security lab'?

And second, WTF does this actually mean: "This would eventually allow miscreants to take complete control over the operation of the affected vehicle to some extent." More qualifiers here than in the fine print on insurance. For now I'm not sweating that somebody might send me a false error code or reprogram my radio stations, unless dealerships start using 'fake CEL' like a certain somebody does w/ 'fake news'.
