I run 4K @ 120 all settings maxed, yes the 4090 keeps me at 120+, but the difference between slightly lower settings of a 3090 is visually negligible and a few FPS drop is also negligible for most games.
The card is definitely close to 2X faster in raw performance but it doesn’t give you 2X better visuals. There is diminishing returns taking effect on today’s game engines. All the power just goes to excessive FPS which is a nice bump for competitive FPS but little else need 350fps
What this card really needs are 8K textures, 10x polygon, and character models that don’t walk around like they have sticks up their arse or spin disconnected from the ground instead of walking with real physics and real skeletal motion.
I do prefer visuals over FPS.
