You ought to be ashamed of yourself for asking this. As a Mother I know how hard and emotionally stressful it is to care for a newborn. The Mother is going to need all the help she can get at all times of the day and night for the first month especially while she is recovering. Have you ever thought about post pardon depression? Would you like to come home to wife that has killed herself or her child because she felt hopeless with no help? That's how I felt. I had EXTREME lows for first few weeks after I gave birth. While it was trying to adjust and gets used to my new role, my body was changing, healing, and adjusting as well. I honestly would have preferred help during those times the most. If I had a husband that waited until his car arrived to take a month off to help me, we would be divorced.
