Couple things
The 997.2 didn't happen until 2010. The 2009 had the upgraded suspension calibration and nav, but not the full interior refresh and DI engine.
Two, I had a 2007. It's a great car but the build quality in the interior isn't great, the handling is tricky stock, it's old, the tech is super dated etc.
It's also extrnely powerful and reliable and has great brakes.
I expect the m3 to be almost as fast as the 997.1 tt and handle better. It also weighs less than the tt. Hopefully the new brakes are up to the task this time.
I would easily take the new m3.
