I plan on doing a trans flush every 25K miles. My dad did this on his Mountaineer and its still pulling strong at 150K miles, with no engine or transmission issues.
PS thats an American truck with an Auto with no repairs other than a 100K tuneup/suspension overhaul.
It pays to be overcautious.
that being said, I would always ask somebody to do it for me...I dont trust myself with trannies.
