I wouldn't count on it coming any time soon. Apparently google wants access to a bunch of information through the car and BMW doesn't want to give that up, even though their direct competitors (Merc/Audi) and dozens of others have no problem offering it. Probably because they can't charge a monthly fee for it like they can with carplay.

I'll take the increased privacy.
BMW usually tries to get out in front of potential legal issues - for example - setting the Speedo to read +3 Mph over actual in order to avoid potential litigation on speeding tickets.
I can imagine they are absolutely avoiding getting dragged into a privacy issue via sharing information with vendors.
