Same here man. I was actually an early backer for SmartThings on Kickstarter! Crazy to see how far it's come.
Back then I had to re-wire my garage myself, by soldering bell wire and a relay from the artist formerly known as Radio Shack, and use IFTTT commands, and used the SmartThings app to open my garage door from my iPhone 5.
