Yeah my Lexus IS was painfully slow, but as a result I was constantly wringing it out and driving at the limits without even going at dangerous speeds for the conditions.

Most modern cars have such superb NVH and are so technically capable that they need to be driven at go-to-jail speeds for the driver to even feel anything.

I think low 4s from 0-60 is more than quick enough. And on tight curvy back roads, HP and acceleration don't matter as much as lightness, handling, and steering feedback.
