It never shuts off completely (unless I press the button on the column), but the heating in the steering wheel definitely varies, and it seems to follow the interior temperature. I was just wondering if that's a design feature that I hadn't heard of.
Regardless, I like the way it does that. When the cabin is warm, the steering wheel doesn't burn my hands, and when it's cold, it warms them up fast.
Hmmm... I think I'm going to bring my infra-red temp gun with me on a drive, and take some measurements.
